By tradition and by love of these stones, Carrières de Maffle in collaboration with the Marbrerie Crombé also works with the Pierres de France, i.e. white or yellow limestones such as Massangis, Savonnières, Comblanchien, Bretigny, Luget, Comblanchien, Euville, Senonville, Beaunotte rubané, Beauvallon rubané and many others
Carrières de Maffle takes care of the selection in the quarry and sends the blocks to the workshop for sawing and transformation into finished products.
Most of the time, after shaping, the French stones are ground or water softened. A cement slurry can be applied to the stones with the most open pores, before grinding or smoothing. It is highly recommended to waterproof these stones to keep their beautiful light color. Be sure to check that the stones are not freezing and therefore suitable for outdoor use!
