Queen of the restoration
For the restoration of listed buildings, Tournai Stone is a must!
In addition to blue stone, Carrières de Maffle also likes to work with other Belgian stones. Tournai® stone, also known as “Tournai Black” is much more difficult to find. The extraction of large dimension stones is limited in Belgium.
However, for restoration work on listed buildings such as a church, Carrières de Maffle has the solutions to provide this beautiful stone.
The Lemay Quarry deposit, supplier of large dimension stone, by dividing into a succession of thin benches. It provides a very fine-grained stone characterised by the presence of crinoid items and shell debris.
